Welcome to PermuTours (`permutours.com`). By accessing our website, booking a tour, trekking package, or safari trip with us, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a reservation.

1. Booking & Reservations

A booking is confirmed only when PermuTours receives a formal confirmation via email, online booking form, or WhatsApp inquiry, along with the agreed advance deposit. By placing a booking, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms on behalf of yourself and all members of your traveling party.

2. Payments & Pricing

  • Deposit Requirement: A non-refundable deposit (typically 20% to 30% of the total tour fee) is required to secure park permits, mountain crew reservations, and accommodation bookings.
  • Balance Payment: The remaining balance must be paid prior to or on arrival in Tanzania before the start of your tour, unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing.
  • Currency & Bank Fees: Prices are quoted in USD unless specified otherwise. Any bank transfer fees or international transaction charges are the responsibility of the client.
  • Price Alterations: PermuTours reserves the right to adjust tour prices in the event of unforeseen increases in national park entry fees, government taxes, statutory charges, or fuel price surcharges beyond our control.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

If you or any member of your party needs to cancel a confirmed booking, notice must be given in writing via email. The following cancellation charges apply based on the date notice is received:

  • More than 60 days before start date: Deposit forfeited; remaining funds refunded.
  • 30 to 60 days before start date: 50% of total tour cost charged.
  • Less than 30 days before start date: 100% of total tour cost charged (no refund).

Note: Park permits and domestic flight tickets already purchased on your behalf are non-refundable under all circumstances as per statutory regulations.

4. Travel & Medical Insurance

It is a mandatory condition of booking with PermuTours that all clients possess comprehensive travel insurance. Your policy must explicitly cover high-altitude trekking (where applicable, e.g., Mount Kilimanjaro up to 5,895m), medical emergency expenses, emergency air evacuation (e.g., AMREF Flying Doctors), trip cancellation, and lost luggage.

5. Health, Fitness & Risk Acknowledgment

  • Health Status: Mountain climbing and wildlife safaris carry inherent physical demands and risks. Clients are responsible for ensuring they are physically fit and healthy enough to participate.
  • Pre-existing Conditions: You must inform PermuTours prior to travel of any medical conditions, allergies, or physical impairments.
  • Guide Authority: Our head mountain guides and safari leaders reserve the absolute right to modify or terminate a client’s participation if their health or altitude sickness poses a danger to themselves or others.

6. Itinerary Changes & Unforeseen Events (Force Majeure)

PermuTours makes every effort to adhere to confirmed itineraries. However, we reserve the right to modify routes, accommodations, or schedules due to unpredictable weather conditions, natural disasters, road conditions, flight cancellations, or political events (Force Majeure). PermuTours is not liable for extra costs incurred due to such unavoidable events.

7. Passport, Visas & Documentation

Clients are solely responsible for obtaining valid passports (valid for at least 6 months beyond the departure date), entry visas for Tanzania, vaccination certificates (e.g., Yellow Fever where applicable), and all required travel documents.

8. Limitation of Liability

PermuTours operates as a ground tour operator utilizing third-party lodges, camps, airlines, and transport services. While we take every precaution to ensure safety and quality, PermuTours is not liable for injury, loss, damage, death, delay, or inconvenience caused by third-party suppliers or factors beyond our direct control.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Tanzanian courts.
