Itineraries Expand all

  • Day 1: Machame Gate (1,800m) to Machame Camp (3,010m)

    Briefing in Moshi, drive to Machame Gate. Trek through dense rainforest to Machame Camp (5–7 hours).

  • Day 2: Machame Camp (3,010m) to Shira Camp (3,840m)

    Ascend through moorland vegetation, crossing the steep rocky ridge onto the Shira Plateau (4–6 hours).

  • Day 3: Shira Camp to Lava Tower (4,630m) to Barranco Camp (3,960m)

    Acclimatization day: Climb high to Lava Tower for lunch, then descend to Barranco Camp under the famous Barranco Wall (6–8 hours).

  • Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (3,995m)

    Scramble up the Barranco Wall and traverse valleys to Karanga Camp for optimal acclimatization (4–5 hours).

  • Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,673m)

    Trek to Barafu Base Camp. Early dinner and rest before the midnight summit push (4–5 hours).

  • Day 6: Summit Day: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) down to Mweka Camp (3,100m)

    Midnight start to reach Stella Point at sunrise, continuing to Uhuru Peak—the summit of Africa. Descend to Mweka Camp for overnight (11–14 hours total).

  • Day 7: Mweka Gate to Moshi / Arusha Lodge

    Final descent through rainforest to Mweka Gate. Receive summit certificates, celebrate with the mountain crew, and transfer to a hotel in Moshi/Arusha for rest.

  • Day 8: Moshi/Arusha to Central Serengeti National Park

    Depart early by 4x4 safari vehicle towards Central Serengeti, game driving through the Ndutu/Ngorongoro highlands en route.

  • Day 9: Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim

    Morning wildlife tracking in Seronera. Proceed to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area rim for sunset views over the crater.

  • Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater Floor to Moshi / Arusha

    Early morning crater descent for Big Five spotting. Drive back to Moshi or Arusha by late afternoon for your airport connection.
